This should download straight to your desktop unless specified elsewhere.
Step 2: Open Firefox 2.0
Step 3: Drag the ".xpi" file into the open Firefox browser
This should install IGNbq for you.
You should also be able to open the file (double click the ".xpi" file) and "Open with..." Firefox.exe
Step 4: Restart Firefox (Close and re-open the browser)
Step 5: Enjoy
I would just like to note that some people don't understand some of the options so I typed up what some of them mean.
Show message subject by default
When you reply to a thread, this option would show the topic of
the title. By default it is turned off because no one really needs to
see the subject. If you click the "RE:" button when you post, it would
give you the same option.
It isn't worth it to turn this option on.
Show emoticons by default
Pretty self explanatory. When you post, this will open the
emoticon box by default. Personally, I don't use the emoticon box so it
is rather useless to me. If you use emoticons and the box often, then
it might be worth it to turn this option on.
Use plain text by default
When you click IGNBQ Reply, the post is defaulted in What You See
Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) mode. If you turn this option on, you will
have less errors with IGNBQ. Example, when quoting a link in WYSIWYG
mode, IGNBQ some times messes up. This won't happen in plain text by
default.
Outsider quoting
Useless if you are an insider. This just gives the option to
outsiders who use IGNBQ to quote. If you click the "Q" button with this
option turned on, it puts in an outsider quote (Basically just uses
quotes).
Put spaces around emoticons
When you click an emoticon from the emoticon box, it will
automatically insert spaces around the emoticon. This is to prevent the
error of the emoticon not working. I think IGN fixed this problem, so
this option is kinda outdated.
Show format tags in WYSIWYG mode
When you bold something (or anything else) it will show the tags (Example: This is a sentence with bold in it. That's what it would look like with this option on) Personally, I hate this option.
Jump to start
After you post a reply, this with automatically direct you back to
you post or the board you posted on (aka skip the confirmation screen).
I love this option and highly recommend it. It isn't for everyone
though.
Cache posts
I'm pretty sure this means that if Firefox crashes as you are
typing a post, it will save the post. I've turned this on and it has
killed my Firefox, so I don't recommend it. I think the option broke as
Firefox upgraded.
Also, it is highly unlikely that there will be a working version of IGNBQ for Firefox 3.0. I've heard rumors of a built in version coming soon next year, so let's keep our hopes up.
